SMA Staydown Powder 900g.
SMA Staydown is intended for use with babies who suffer from mild reflux or who regularly bring back their feeds. If your baby has this problem you should seek advice from a healthcare professional before changing feeds.
SMA Staydown is a nutritionally complete infant formula that has been thickened with an easily digestible pre-cooked cornstarch. It provides appropriate reflux management and contains important nutrients such as beta-carotene and selenium as well as nucleotides.
SMA Staydown is a special nutritionally complete milk formula with the addition of an easily digestible pre-cooked corn starch. This helps the feed settle in your baby’s stomach so there will be fewer episodes of sickness, or less feed being brought up. It may even resolve the problem completely.
SMA Staydown is gentle enough to be used from birth and should be used in place of the baby's usual formula feed. It can also be mixed with weaning foods. Babies usually grow out of regurgitation at some point, often at 6 - 7 months when a varied diet is established, when the baby's digestive system is more mature and the baby spends more time in an upright position. In which case they can switch back to their usual infant formula or to a follow-on milk if over 6 months of age. However, SMA Staydown can be used until 12 months if regurgitation persists.
Directions:
For best results the powder needs to be mixed with previously boiled and refrigerated water. It may be helpful to prepare a day’s feed in one go so follow these simple steps:
Step 1. Boil the kettle and allow to cool down slightly.
Step 2. Measure water into sterile bottles, cool and refrigerate until required.
Step 3. Prepare each feed as and when your baby needs it by adding the correct number of scoops of SMA Staydown (as specified on the can) to the water in the bottle.
Step 4. Mix the powder and water together by ROLLING THE BOTTLE BETWEEN YOUR HANDS – DO NOT SHAKE.
This product is best fed at room temperature.
If desired you can warm it very gently by placing in a jug of tepid water.
