Vitamin B

B1 (thiamine) helps the release of energy from carbohydrates which helps the nervous system, maintains stomach acidity and normal appetite. B2 (riboflavin) helps to convert proteins, fats and carbohydrates into energy and is needed for healthy skin and eyes. B3 (niacin) helps to release energy from food and maintains health of skin, mouth and digestive tract and is necessary for normal mental function and can increase circulation and reduce high blood pressure. B5 (pantothenic acid) is needed to release energy from food, aids the functioning of the adrenal gland and also in the formation of antibodies. B6 (pyridoxine) is required for the metabolism of protein, helps to maintain fluid balance, and is required to maintain healthy red blood cells. B12 is required for red blood cell production and the maintenance of the protective sheath around nerves. Folic acid is needed for growth and reproduction of cells, especially the red blood cells. Biotin is needed to help maintain healthy skin and hair and also aids the metabolism.
